There is actually very little that can go wrong with your Detrash watch. We use one of the world's most popular and reliable movements, in a solid steel case.
However the watches are hand-built in small batches, and human error can happen, most often this is something like the hand(s) not being perfectly installed, so they don't move properly.
If you have any issues like this, that are clearly a manufacturing mistake, you have 2 options.
1) Take the watch to a local watchmaker and get them to fix it. Send up a copy of the invoice and their confirmation that this is a manufacturing error and we will refund the invoice against your purchase. This is usually the quickest and easiest way to get your watch working.
2) Send the watch back to us. See the returns section of the product pages for how to do this.
What is not covered under the guarantee
- Any cosmetic damage: Watches get scratched, there is nothing that we can do about that. The DLC coating can be scratched off. The ceramic bezel can be chipped (with force). All of this is considered wear and tear.
- Water damage: Our watches are waterproof to 100m/ 200m (depending on the model), but only when used correctly. A couple of customers have changed the time when they went on holiday, and forgot to screw the crown back in... then jumped in a pool. If the crown isn't screwed in the watch won't be waterproof.
- Magnetism: The watch needs to be kept away from any magnets. These will cause issues with the proper functioning of the movement.
- Date change: The date on any mechanical watch should not be changed between 9pm and 3am, when the movement is automatically changing the date. If you change the date between these times you can break the movement. If you need to change the date between these times, first change the time to 6 am/pm, then change the date, then reset the time.
- Any other user error.
