About this model

The Cali (white) is Detrash's first ever California dial watch, our first watch to have a textured dial, our first watch to feature Cliff (our WWII pilot, surfer, globe mascot) on the dial and our first watch with an exhibition caseback, so you can see the workings of your watch.

For those who don't know, a California dial is when you mix Arabic (normal) and Roman numerals. California dial designs date back to the 1930s and were used primarily by Rolex and Panerai. They gained popularity in WWII, as they apparently increase legibility and were known as "error-proof"dials... and most importantly they look great!

A 41mm dive watch made with 80% recycled steel, on an ocean-plastic strap, with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, 200m water resistance and sapphire crystal (front and back). Each watch is limited to 100 pieces, individually numbered and at least 1% of turnover goes to help the planet.

Materials

We are constantly striving to improve the materials that we work with.

The first edition watches have:

- Cases made from 80% recycled steel (equivalent to 316L surgical grade stainless steel)

- Straps made from #tide recycled ocean plastic

- Pouch made with offcuts from clothes manufacture.

- Recycled card boxes.

You won't get a big, flashy watch box like you would with some big brands. These just take up space, which means extra transport, which means extra emissions, and they just aren't necessary.

2.How to set the Date & Time difference

I'm very happy with my Detrash Cali

I find this watch sits comfortably on the wrist and is very easy on the eye. The slightly quirky California style watch face is attractive, and with the bold hour and minute hands, actually reading the time is a doddle without having to reach for the reading glasses. I've only had it a few days, but it appears to be keeping time well within what's expected from an automatic mechanism. Customer service has been excellent and at the price point it's a watch I'm delighted to own.

Detrash has been created for adventurous people who want to look after the planet's natural playgrounds.
