£335.00 £375.00 On Sale

The Cali (white) is Detrash's first ever California dial watch, our first watch to have a textured dial, our first watch to feature Cliff (our WWII pilot, surfer, globe mascot) on the dial and our first watch with an exhibition caseback, so you can see the workings of your watch.

For those who don't know, a California dial is when you mix Arabic (normal) and Roman numerals. California dial designs date back to the 1930s and were used primarily by Rolex and Panerai. They gained popularity in WWII, as they apparently increase legibility and were known as "error-proof"dials... and most importantly they look great!

A 41mm dive watch made with 80% recycled steel, on an ocean-plastic strap, with a Seiko NH35 automatic movement, 200m water resistance and sapphire crystal (front and back). Each watch is limited to 100 pieces, individually numbered and at least 1% of turnover goes to help the planet.

The 1st watch brand in Europe to sign up for 1% for the planet.

At least 1% of each sale (not just profit) goes to eco charities. Our current charity partner is Surfers Against Sewage. We want to show that business can be a force for good in the world.

Championing alternative, eco-friendly materials. To show the world what can be done.

Including #tide recycled ocean plastic, 80% recycled steel, fashion industry offcuts and a whole lot more to come. The aim of Detrash is to show that trash can be made into something beautiful. Because what's the point of recycling if we don't value "made from recycled"?

Founder's note

"Detrash is a passion project. I love watches, but find most of them boring, and the ones that are even vaguely fun can be eye wateringly expensive (£200k - over £1m for a Richard Mille with a smiley face!). In 2023 I sold my first business and this gave me some time to look at watches properly. The main thing that amazed me was that unlike FMCG (my last business) very few companies are even trying to do anything ethical. It feels like every other industry is switching to have more of a purpose and do some good in the world, and the watch world isn't even trying. This is a massive shame, but together we can fix this" Guy Blaskey
