Materials

We are constantly striving to improve the materials that we work with.

The first edition watches have:

- Cases made from 80% recycled steel (equivalent to 316L surgical grade stainless steel)

- Straps made from #tide recycled ocean plastic

- Pouch made with offcuts from clothes manufacture.

- Recycled card boxes.

You won't get a big, flashy watch box like you would with some big brands. These just take up space, which means extra transport, which means extra emissions, and they just aren't necessary.

From GQ's "Best British Watch Brands"

"Making trash desirable. Yes, this British microbrand really means it with eco-friendly materials, minimal packaging made of recycled (and recyclable) cardboard, and a commitment from founder Guy Blaskey to give 1% of the brand’s annual revenue to planetary causes. The Gotham’s Vigilante model [like all models] is made of 80% recycled steel on an ocean-plastic strap, a fitting tribute to the superhero."

  • Have fun. Do Good.

This is a mantra for life and for watches. The watches are obviously good, and they do good. They're fun to design and designed to have fun wearing.

  • Make Trash Desirable

We're all great at recycling now, but if we don't start making products and valuing "from recycled" what's the point? We want to 'Make Trash Desirable' so more gets recycled and we help save the planet's resources.

  • Developed in Dorset

Detrash is Developed in Dorset, one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, surrounded by the sea and by nature. It inspires us to do right by the planet.

Quality quirky watch

Blown away by the quality of this watch. I was drawn to Detrash by their ethos and messaging, Have fun do good. The Player One encapsulated this perfectly and its attractive and colourful design has already started plenty of conversations. The Player One is so comfortable on the wrist that a watch I bought for an occasional wear has become my go to day to day wear. Would definitely recommend adding a Detrash to your collection!

Fantastic watch!

I love it! Nice weight to the watch yet very comfortable on the wrist! The face design is brilliant! It really pops! Feels nice and sturdy, very well made, and gives me a smug feeling knowing it's primarily made from recycled materials! Very happy to finally own one!

Great idea, a beautiful watch, flawless execution

I’ve been after a Player One for months and, boy, was it worth the wait!
I am incredibly impressed. I love it! It feels incredible, it LOOKS amazing, and if it was just a regular watch I’d have been blown away already by the finish-at-this-budget factor but when you add in the ethos, I’m lost for words.
It’s my latest watch, and it’s one of the most important ones I have. When the big brands are knocking out cheap (yet damned expensive) plastic, quartz models that are “fun”, all they are doing is lining their pockets with cash and filling the oceans with plastic.
Guy at Detrash does things differently, and should be championed.
The only way you’ll see me with a Moonswatch or Kith F1 on my wrist is if it’s pulled out the ocean and made into a Detrash watch strap.
